Learn how to edit your optimization’s name, goals, pages, audiences, and more.
Important
For test optimizations only, you must stop the optimization before it can be edited.
Each optimization has its own configuration settings. You can access these settings from the visual editor (e.g., while editing a variation) or navigate directly to the settings from the optimization's results page. All optimizations share some settings — like name, goals, pages, and audiences — while some have special settings unique to that optimization type — like setting traffic allocation (test) or audience priority (personalize).
Begin at the optimization results page
The optimization results page, or optimization details page, is where you can see a list of variations and any results they've accumulated.
Open your Optimize site in Webflow, then:
- Click Optimizations in the Navigation panel
- Click the optimization to view its results
How to rename the optimization
You can change the name of an optimization to help your recognize what you're testing (e.g., Homepage Hero Image).
- Click Actions > Edit Name
- Enter a new optimization name
- Click Save
How to edit goals
Optimizations use the target goal to measure the performance of your variations.
- Click Actions > Edit Configuration
- Click the Goals tab
- Manage the Optimization's goals:
How to edit the pages settings
Pages define where the optimization runs on your site. Learn more about creating or editing page definitions.
- Click Actions > Edit Configuration
- Go to Overview > Pages
- Click Add page to run the optimization on another page
- Click the Options icon by a page to:
- View details — look at the page definition's configuration
- Edit page — modify the page definition
- Remove page — stop running the optimization on this page. At least one other page must be added to remove a page.
- Click Save
How to apply an audience
The way audiences are applied depends on the optimization type. Learn how to apply an audience.
- AI Optimize and Test optimizations — apply an audience at the optimization level
- Personalize optimizations — apply an audience at the variation level
How to change traffic allocation
For test optimizations, traffic is allocated evenly across all variations by default. You can edit the traffic allocation so that the split is uneven, but the total percentage must sum to 100%.
- Click Actions > Edit Configuration
- Go to Overview > Traffic allocation
- Click Edit
- Enter new Split values for each variation
- Click Save after the values sum to 100%
How to change variation order
For personalize optimizations, if a visitor matches more than one of your optimization's audiences, the order in which your variations are listed determine which variation they'll see. The higher priority variation (from top to bottom) that the visitor is matched to is shown. Learn how to set the variation order.
