Run a playbook optimization

Launch ready-made optimizations with AI generated ideas based on proven strategies.

Playbooks help you act fast on strategies that work. Each one is a curated strategy or proven best practice designed to increase engagement — and ultimately, drive more conversions. AI generates ideas based on the playbook and the context of the page. Use these ideas to quickly launch variations with built-in context, or customize them to match your brand and goals.

How to run a playbook

Open your Optimize site in Webflow, then:

1. Click Optimizations in the Navigation panel
2. Click New Optimization at the top
3. Go to Explore playbooks and choose a playbook that resonates with you
4. Choose a page definition that fits the playbook’s intent (e.g., a cart playbook runs on the cart page)
5. Click Create Playbook Optimization
6. Follow the directions in the Playbook panel to begin (e.g., select a headline or insert a new element)
7. Review the AI-generated suggestions in the Playbook panel:
   • Preview an idea — hover over an idea to see how it looks on the page
   • Make a variation — click Try this template idea to apply it
   • Start from scratch — click Blank variation to build your own
8. Make any changes you want in the visual editor (e.g., edit text or apply styling updates)
9. Click Save when you're done

How to add more variations

Any AI-suggested ideas you haven’t used yet will still be available when you add a new variation.

Open your Optimize site in Webflow, then:

1. Click Optimizations in the Navigation panel
2. Click your playbook optimization
3. Click Add variation at the top

The Playbook panel opens so you can choose another generated idea or start from a blank variation.

Preview and launch

Before launching, preview each variation to make sure everything looks and behaves as expected. Once you're ready, you can launch individual variations or all draft variations at once.
