Create or edit a page view goal

Updated

Track when visitors land on specific URLs to measure conversion paths.

A page view goal tracks when visitors load specific site pages — like a thank-you page, a product detail page, or any other important destination. If a visitor views a targeted page during their session, it counts as a conversion for that goal. These goals help you track moments where reaching a specific page represents success.

Note

Page view goals leverage page definitions to track views. Learn how to create a page definition.

Create a page view goal

Open your Optimize site in Webflow, then:

  1. Click Optimizations in the Navigation panel
  2. Click an optimization
  3. Click the Options icon > Edit Configuration
  4. Click the Goals tab
  5. Click Add goal
  6. Rename the goal (e.g., Viewed Thank You page)
  7. (Optional) Click Track as site goal to make this a site goal
  8. Select Page view goal and click Continue
  9. Select one or more pages
  10. Click Create

Optionally, set the goal as the target goal next.

Edit a page view goal

Open your Optimize site in Webflow, then:

  1. Click Optimizations in the Navigation panel
  2. Click an optimization
  3. Click the Options icon > Edit Configuration
  4. Click the Goals tab
  5. Select a goal and make your edits:
    • Add a page — use the [#] pages selected dropdown to select another page
    • Remove a page — click the Options icon > Remove page
  6. Click Save

Good to know

To make changes to what a site goal targets, you'll need to remove it as a site goal first, make the edits, then set it as the site goal again. You can hover over a site goal and click the Options icon to rename it, set it as a target, remove it as a site goal, or delete it.

Set an existing click goal as a site goal

Important

All site goals must either have a monetary value or no monetary value. If an existing goal does not match your current site goals' value choice (a value or no value), then it can't be tracked as a site goal.

  1. Click Optimizations in the Navigation panel
  2. Click an optimization
  3. Click the Options icon > Edit Configuration
  4. Click the Goals tab
  5. Hover over a goal and click the Options icon
  6. Click Track as site goal
