Allowlist domains and subdomains for the Optimize.
The allowed domains setting lets you allowlist different parts of your website (i.e., domains or subdomains) so they're accessible to Optimize. If a domain or subdomain is not on the allowed list, Optimize is disabled for those pages — even if the Optimize snippet is installed.
Organizing content across domains and subdomains
Websites often have multiple subdomains to organize different categories of content or sections of their site. For example, blog.domain.com for a blog or support.domain.com for customer support.
It’s also common for websites to leverage third-party services that host pages under their domain. For example, ecommerce checkout flows, SSO authentication, and knowledge bases.
In some cases, entirely separate domains are used for specific brands or features. For example, Microsoft manages multiple domains under the broader Microsoft umbrella, including onenote.com, office.com, and xbox.com.

How to update the allowed domains list
Pro tip
We recommend adding two versions of your domain with Include subdomains enabled for both — add one with www (e.g., www.domain.com) and add one without www (e.g., domain.com). This should cover most site pages.
Open your Optimize site in Webflow, then:
- Click Account settings in the Navigation panel
- Go to Allowed Domains
- Click Add
- Enter the domain (e.g.,
www.mywebsite.com) - Leave Include subdomains enabled unless you want to manually control subdomain inclusion
- Click Save
Future-proof your setup by enabling the When new pages are defined... automatically add option at the bottom of Allowed Domains. This option automatically allowlists new domains you introduce when you create new page definitions.
Special handling for fourth-level domains
Fourth-level domains (e.g., support.blog.website.com) are not captured by the Include subdomains option.
Manually add each fourth-level domain to your allowed domains list.
