Manage outbound link visibility in Salesforce

Updated

Show or hide outbound links on Salesforce record pages.

Each outbound link you create is added to Salesforce as a new field, which is hidden by default. While hidden, you can still send these links through outbound communication tools (e.g., Salesloft) as dynamic content. To view or copy the links directly from Salesforce, a Salesforce admin can follow the steps below to make these fields visible on record pages.

Note

These Salesforce Lightning steps may change. For current instructions, check Salesforce's help documentation.

Add Optimize outbound link fields in Salesforce

From Salesforce:

  1. Click the Gear icon at the top by your profile icon
  2. Click Setup
  3. Expand Objects and Fields in the left panel, then click Object Manager
  4. Choose Contact or Lead to edit that page’s layout
  5. Click Page Layouts in the left menu
  6. Select Contact Layout or Lead Layout (or the custom layout name you use)
  7. Drag a new Section into the layout where you want to add Optimize
  8. Name the section — e.g., Optimize Outbound links
  9. Optionally adjust the section layout, then click OK
  10. Use Quick Find to search for Intellimize
  11. Drag any links you want to display into the new section
  12. Click Save at the top of the layout editor

Note

Each time you create a new outbound link in Optimize, you'll need to manually add the new link field to the section for it to appear on the record pages.

Remove Optimize outbound link fields in Salesforce

If you delete an outbound link in the Optimize dashboard, its field remains visible on the record page (if you've previously added it) until it’s manually removed.

From Salesforce:

  1. Hover over the field in the layout editor
  2. Click the Remove icon to delete it from the layout
  3. Click Save at the top
