Prevent Meta Pixel from flagging data from Optimize.
If you use the Meta Pixel (formerly Facebook Pixel) to track visitor activity, you might receive a notification that the Pixel is receiving data from intellimize.com or webflow.com. This isn’t cause for concern — it’s common with many third-party tools (e.g., Shopify). You can update your Meta Pixel allow list to prevent the notification from reoccurring.
What does the notification mean?
The Meta Pixel tracks visitor activity on your site. This notice means the Pixel received data from a domain other than your own. In this case, it's caused by Optimize's visual editor, which loads your webpage in an iframe. Since this preview is hosted on Webflow Optimize's domain — not your site’s domain — Meta flags the activity as coming from a third-party source.
While these dashboard-generated events are minimal compared to real visitor activity, they’re still received by Meta Pixel.
Update your Meta Pixel allow list
Pro tip
Review Meta's best practices for traffic permissions and instructions on managing traffic permissions.
Adding your website's domain and domains you want to the allow list ensures Meta Pixel only accepts events from domains you want — like your own. If you leave Webflow Optimize off of the list, it will no longer accept event data from Optimize.
From Meta's Business Manager:
- Go to Events Manager
- Click the Data sources icon
- Select your Pixel
- Click Settings
- Under Traffic permissions, choose Create allow list
- Enter your website's domain and click Next
- Click Confirm
- Repeat for any additional domains you want to allow
